Meet the Homeroom Teacher of our 2027/2028 Grade 1 Class: Soós-Vida Ibolya

We are delighted to introduce Soós-Vida Ibolya, the future homeroom teacher of the Grade 1 class starting at Szeged IPS in the 2027/2028 school year.

Ibolya has been a member of our teaching staff since 2021, so she knows the values, community and international educational approach of Szeged IPS very well. She has been guiding her current class since Grade 1 and will say goodbye to them at the end of the 2026/2027 school year, when they complete Grade 4. In September 2027, she will then welcome a new group of first graders.

Ibolya is known for her kindness, patience, calm personality and sensitivity towards children. As a teacher, it is important to her that her students feel safe at school, are confident enough to ask questions, try new things and make mistakes, while gradually becoming more independent.

She speaks English at a very high level, which is especially important in our international school environment. She moves naturally between Hungarian and English in her teaching and also plays an active role in IPC-based learning.

Creativity is an important part of both Ibolya’s personality and her teaching. She enjoys crafting, sewing and beadwork, and for several years she has led one of our most popular afternoon activities, the beadwork and sewing club. Her artistic interests are even broader and include visual arts, art history, theatre, as well as folk and jazz music.

Over the past years, Ibolya has not only taught her class but has guided them through their first four years of school. She therefore knows this special stage of childhood extremely well: the transition from Preschool to school, learning to read and write, becoming increasingly confident in English, and gradually growing into a real class community.

We are very happy that in September 2027 Ibolya will welcome the new Grade 1 students of Szeged IPS and guide them as they begin their school years.

We warmly invite you to our school presentation on Wednesday, October 7 at 5:00 PM at our Lidicei tér campus. This will be a great opportunity to meet Ibolya in person and learn more about Grade 1 at Szeged IPS, our educational approach and the 2027/2028 school year.
